The work of the hydrocarbons committee deals with subjects related to oil and gas in the Euro-Mediterranean region of particular interest to its Member companies. One of its main activities consists in mid- and long-term (up to 2030) scenario building for Euro-Mediterranean oil and gas supply and demand. These scenarios are made by concentrating on reserves/resources assessments, production capacity analyses, infrastructure developments, export projects and contracts, government policies in individual countries, institutional aspects, and geopolitics. Also, concerning Mediterranean and European gas, supply costs and market value are regularly assessed. Another important issue is related to institutional and financing issues which are dealt together with the Financing Committee. Another current study looks at the Mediterranean refining industry and their future evolution.
