The energy sector is dominated by the investment issue. In such capitalistic industries, the financial constraint often represents the main obstacle towards the realisation of projects. This question is particularly sensible in developing countries in general and in Southern and Eastern Mediterranean Countries in particular, whose financing means are sometimes very limited. The works of the OME Financing Committee mainly consist in analysing the financial investment barriers, the role of national and international financial institutions, and to propose innovative schemes aimed to facilitate investment in the energy sector. This committee is, by nature, transversal, working with all the other OME committees.
