The Electricity Committee carries out studies related to electricity sector in the Mediterranean dealing with various subjects such as developments in the institutional framework, analysis of electricity demand, power production and the construction of new power plants, electric interconnections and electricity exchanges between Mediterranean countries.

Whenever relevant, the meetings of the Electricity Committee are associated with the other technical Committees to analyze common problems such as the synergies between gas and electricity (with the Hydrocarbons Committee), the use of the renewable energy sources for power production (with the Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development Committee), the financing of power plant projects and electric lines (with the Financing Committee).
